Materials System Engineering
Program compact
The digitalized future requires special, intelligent materials, and the field of materials research needs the tools offered by digitalization. In this programme, materials are explored in order to be able to improve, design, and fabricate them. To this end, digital methods in the area of big data analysis are combined with experimental research on materials. Researchers focus on nanomaterials, biomaterials, and designing individual molecules. Forschungszentrum Jülich offers powerful research infrastructures, such as the Ernst Ruska-Centre and the Jülich Supercomputing Centre, are available for use by scientists from around the world.
